About Us

Karmsund Group is the parent company of Karmsund Servicebase & Karmsund Contracting, operating on the West Coast of Norway.

We are located on the north end of the Karmøy island, west of Haugesund city.

Our 110 decare shore base is operated by Karmsund Servicebase.

Karmsund Contracting has since 1981 been contracting personnel to the on- and offshore industry.

Karmsund Group owns through its Estonian subsidiaries, a number of properties primarily in Tallinn.

Our first aluminium helideck delivered to “Borgsten Dolphin”.

Our first telescopic gangway supplied to "Treasure Supporter".

Karmsund Contracting Services AS was established.

The first rig to the “Safe Holmia”.

The world's first friction welding machine, "large scale" was commissioned by Marine Aluminium Aanensen & Co. AS.

The first Estonian company was established.

Merger and demerger. Hydro Marine Aluminium AS was established. Marine Aluminium Aanensen & Co AS continues as an independent company.

Marine Aluminium Aanensen & Co AS changes name to Karmsund Servicebase AS.

The floatel “Safe Caledonia” arrived to Karmsund Servicebase AS. A milestone was reached in our strategic efforts to establish Karmsund Servicebase AS as an attractive Servicebase for the offshore industry.

Karmsund Servicebase is strategically located in the sheltered straits of the Karmsund. With a long shoreline and quayside to facilitate logistics, it is perfectly fit to serve as an offshore service base.
